About the event

July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. This annual observance, established in 2008, aims to bring awareness to the unique mental health concerns faced by minoritized communities. During this month, we focus on destigmatizing mental illness and promoting mental wellness for members of the global majority. It’s essential to recognize that mental health challenges can affect individuals of any race, ethnicity, or background. However, unique external and internal barriers may exist for historically excluded individuals when accessing care and treatment.

Please join us as Regina Sanders, LPC NCC, Director, Office of Health & Wellness, Student Support Services, Northern VA Community College leads a conversation on health equity. She will also share how using resources provided by several organizations, we can all contribute to better mental health outcomes for everyone. Email:  rlsanders@nvcc.edu  or Regina.Sanders.1111@gmail.com    LinkedIn:  linkedin.com/in/regina-s-connect
